Ethel Faye Minyard

Ethel Faye (Nancy) Massey Minyard (Mamaw) went home to be with the Lord on October 13th, 2025 Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19th, 2025, from 4:00-5:00 pm for family and 5:00-7:00 pm for friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 20th, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Deerfoot Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery with a procession graciously provided by the Argo Police Department. Arrangements are being made by Deerfoot Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating: Joey Calvin, David Bice, and Gary King Nancy was born in Hopewell Alabama to Lester and Maggie (Goodwin) Massey on December 17th, 1934, and she attended Hewitt School in Trussville, AL. She was an engraver at the Bell Company in Trussville for twenty plus years. Most of her life was dedicated to being a Wife, Mother, and Grandmother. She was very active in church from VBS to writing Christmas plays. She and Rube raised their five children in church, hosting regular church socials. Everyone knew her door was always open if anyone had a problem or just needed someone to listen. In later years she was a major part of Southland BBQ, being the first employee and continued working while fighting breast cancer from 2018 -2024 when a broken arm forced her to stop working. She remained an important part of the business until it’s closing in early 2025. She was our hero and now she is our Guardian Angel. Mamaw is preceded in death by her parents Lester and Maggie, Husband of fifty years, Ruben Minyard, her Son, Michael Minyard, and twelve siblings. She is survived by her children, William (Carol), Richard (Grace), Patricia (Joe Calvin) and Rita Minyard. 12 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren, 6 Great-Great Grandchildren, and one Great-Great grand on the way, Sister, Joyce Bice, Brother-in-Law, Leland (Linda) Minyard, Sister-in-Law, Charlotte Adams, along with a host of Nieces and Nephews. The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Shaily Lakhanpal and doctors Barry Mccleney, and Andrew Poe. Special thanks to her Sister, Joyce, for always showing up, and her Grandkids, Nieces, Nephews, and in-laws who took her to appointments and provided other care. On behalf of her children, we would like to extend our gratitude to her Son-in- Law, Joe Calvin, and Grand Daughter-in-Law, Kayla Glenn for going above and beyond for our Mother when they didn’t have to. “Now y’all get in there and eat”- Mamaw
